Sarah Palin On SNL

17 October 2008

Sarah Palin is scheduled to make an appearence on Saturday Night Live this week. Lest I remind you what happened to Hillary after she made an appearence? Rock on Sarah! You go girl. Make sure everyone knows you can take a joke — thats the way to win the election for McCain!

Kath & Kim Sucks, The Office is Just Okay, and Indiana Jones Got Raped.

9 October 2008

I gave Kath & Kim a full half hour. I’m betting the show doesn’t last more than 6 weeks. I laughed once.

The Office was just okay tonight. Michael and whats her face are still the new Jim and Pam, everyone there is unethical (shocker) and no one cares that Jim and Pam are getting married in the office except Michael. I did enjoy watching Dwight pee in a soda bottle so he wouldn’t waste company time – funniest moment, Jim talking about Battlestar Galactica. Not very memorable. I can’t wait to see what happens when Pam finally returns from the big city. I really hope they don’t destroy their relationship because she’s made a couple knew hipster friends.

South Park on the other hand, rocks. Especially if you agree that Indiana Jones was indeed raped by George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg, Jodi Foster style. Full episodes are available online here.

This Might Not Suck.

Fox to remake the British comedy Absolutely Fabulous. The U.S. rendition of “Ab Fab” will be transplanted to L.A. but retain the basic template of the original, revolving around the friendship of two boozy, over-40 best friends who are desperate to stay hip and youthful and who carry on under the disapproving eye of Edina’s teenage daughter, Saffy. [Variety] Executive producer of Arrested Development, Mitch Hurwitz is involved in the project, so hopefully it won’t be as awful as anticipated.

In other news, The Riches was canceled. In case you care? I know I’m heartbroken. I forgot what that show was about. I remember thieves with many accents? Gypsies? Lots of money hidden in a Winnie? Eddie Izzard?

Heroes Season 3 Ep. 4 Preview

6 October 2008

Heroes tonight! I’m interested to see what is going on actually – brown haired claire, gay sylar… could potentially be an interesting episode. More than likely it will disappoint but I’m still willing to give the show a couple more chances. Video preview after the jump.

Kath & Kim Getting Poor Reviews

4 October 2008

NBC’s comedy line ups have been the only thing keeping them alive in the past couple of TV seasons. With 30 Rock and The Office quickly becoming cult classics, I couldn’t wait to jump on board with Kath & Kim, their latest comedy installment. Then I started reading the reviews.

K&K is based on an Australian comedy of the same title, about a mom and daughter moving back in together. Selma Blair plays Kim, full grown daughter just divorced, Molly Shannon plays Kath, mom hairdresser. They are classic American white-trash, and apparently this doesn’t translate as well into the series as I thought it might.

Entertainment Weekly gives it a C-, saying “the core problem with K&K is that there’s no character to root for.” [EW]

Variety says K&K is “snide but not smart…will likely leave American audiences scratching their heads.” [Variety]

Check out the promo after the jump.
